USPA NEWS - Evacuees are required to present themselves at the Emergency Reception Centre located at the Bridgetown Fire Department, 31 Bay Rd. To access information, contact 1-833-806-1515 (use 911 exclusively for emergency situations). Stay informed about local news and follow the guidance provided by local authorities. This alert is valid until further notice.
18:20 August 24th: The Long Lake wildfire complex remains uncontained and continues to spread. An updated size estimate will be provided once smoke conditions improve, allowing aerial resources to be reassigned from firefighting to conduct a new measurement.

The fire has traversed West Dalhousie Road at multiple locations, breached Thorne Road, and advanced to Paradise Lake. As a result, the evacuation area for Morse and Thorne Roads has been extended, and further evacuations may be necessary.
Air and ground crews are fully committed to containing the fire. While some firefighters were temporarily relocated for safety, they continue to play an active role in firefighting efforts. Measures to protect structures are in place, and all possible efforts are being made to protect homes and other structures.

20:05, August 24th: Mandatory Evacuation Expanded due to West Dalhousie Wildfire: The mandatory evacuation area has been expanded to include Highway 10 and all adjacent streets around Trout Lake, Zwicker Lake, and East Lake in New Albany, as well as Old Liverpool Road, Che-Boag-A-Nish Road, and all of West Dalhousie Road in Albany Cross. THIS IS NOT A RECOMMENDATION LEAVE NOW!!!
